ECB’s Draghi: No sense in speculating on Grexit

Draghi underlined that the Eurozone project was irreversible.

European Central Bank president Mario Draghi apparently tried to soothe markets’ nerves ahead of Monday’s opening, saying there’s no sense in speculating over “Grexit”.

In an interview for the weekly magazine of Spain’s ABC newspaper, Draghi underlined that the Eurozone project was “irreversible.”

However, he declined to comment on the prospect of Grexit.

“Please understand that I prefer not to comment at all on this issue. Any statement on my part could be used politically. To speculate on a potential Grexit doesn’t make any sense,” he said.
