Earthquake hits Peru

It had a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale

An earthquake of 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Peru, on Friday, 74km southeast of Lima, according to the American Geophysical Institute.

 

The undersea earthquake hit the area and had a focal depth of 44.9km below the seabed. This magnitude of earthquake can cause significant damage.

 

A Reuters cameraman reported that the vibration in Lima was very strong.
