He is fully vaccinated

Newsroom December 24 04:52

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew tested positive for the coronavirus, according to an announcement issued by the Patriarchate.

The statement reads: “His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in the context of the regular diagnostic tests that are carried out in Fanari, was found to be positive for the virus”.

According to the same sources, Bartholomew is fully vaccinated, shows mild symptoms and his general condition is good. After the positive diagnosis, he visited the central hospital of the city in Constantinople for further preventive examinations.

“The Ecumenical Patriarch thanks all those who express their interest in his state of health and urges, paternally, once again, to follow the recommendations of doctors and experts, as well as those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so for the good of themselves and of society as a whole,” the statement said.
