ENFIA and increased revenue bring tax cuts

16% revenue increase in September – preliminary draft budget due on Monday

Troika keeps well hidden its position for 2015 budget. According to a senior official of the Ministry, after the meeting of Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis and Mr. Christos Staikouras with the head auditors’ on Monday morning they will present the preliminary draft budget which is not far from the original goal of 3% primary surplus in 2015.

Further information report that the government’s new target for primary surplus will be 2.9% of GDP and not 2.3% -2.7% as was stated in initial rumors before the negotiations with Troika begin.

However, is not certain that the same amounts will apply in the final budget plan at the end of November or at the beginning of December. Lenders have never suggested a number, obviously just waiting to observe the results of the following two months and then intervene if needed.
