Erdogan forced to pay 10,000 turkish lira for insulting sculptor

According to a Turkish court decision

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be paying 10,000 Turkish lira as compensation to sculptor Mehmet Aksoy, who had sued the Turkish leader.

An Istanbul court ratified the decision of the 10,000 lira fine to Erdogan, who had characterized Aksoy’s sculpture as hideous.

In 2011, Erdogan who was the Prime Minister of Turkey, had visited a province neighboring Armenia. Aksoy had placed a sculpture on the hill, symbolizing friendship between Armenia and Turkey.
