Erdogan: Second nuclear plant in Turkey under construction after Akkuyu

He again promised low inflation, saying “we are in the process of making Turkey one of the top 10 economies in the world”

Turkey’s second nuclear plant is under way, according to Recep Tayyip Erdogan who spoke at the Young Entrepreneurs Association.

The Turkish President did not specify the location, while addressing opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu, he said he once lived with candles but now Turkey is building nuclear power plants.

“We do not stop, we work. A second nuclear power plant will be under construction soon. We’re busy. If you want, you can go to Akkuyu. Akkuyu is not far away. And you will see how our nuclear plant is on site. Look, Mr. Kemal. The second nuclear plant is coming soon. You in your time had candles and gas lamps. And here we are. Solar plants, nuclear power plants… We are the ones who build them. Whatever you could not imagine, we made it a reality”, he said.

The Turkish president added that his government has already proposed to Russia to discuss the development of a second nuclear power plant in its territory, with the Russians responding that they are willing to discuss it and check the prospects.

Meanwhile, Erdogan promised low inflation again, saying “we are in the process of making Turkey one of the top 10 economies in the world with its own model, power and program. We are on the verge of 2023 and we are in the process of transforming Turkey into one of the leading centers of production and exports in the world”.

It should be reminded that Erdogan has repeatedly expressed his determination to equip Turkey with nuclear weapons, just “like Israel”, as he has stated.
