Farmers have the right to demonstrate but Athens cannot be closed for two days, the ELAS message

Coordinated and in consultation with the Greek Police, the descent of the farmers’ tractors in Athens began.

Since the morning, police officers have been on the E65 in consultation with the farmers to ensure the smooth arrival of tractors and buses in the center of Athens.

The tractors will be assembled by the afternoon at Kastro Boeotia for their final stretch. A total of 61 tractors from Thessaly are expected to descend.

As you can see in the videos, the tractors’ movement is accompanied by a traffic police patrol in front and behind the procession.

The tractors in motion

Shortly after 10am about 20 tractors from Karditsa along with those from Megalochori Trikala got on the E65 heading to Lamia and Kastro Boeotia.

At the same time about 15 tractors from Platykambos will reach Stefanovikio via the old National Road Larissa-Volo, where the tractors of the blockade will be added to the convoy.
