The young girl, who collapsed while training at the university stadium, was an athlete in the track & field of Theseas Perivolia and a third-year student at TEFAA Komotini. Georgia S., originally from a village in the Municipality of Platanias, Crete, in the recent Intercollegiate Championship had travelled to Heraklion to take part in the 100 and 200 meters as well as in the 4 × 100 meters relay, participating with his team Theseus in the Club of Crete.

When she was found, she was already dead and did not respond to the resuscitation efforts made, while it is worth noting that she wore a watch that recorded her times and pulses and is the subject of an investigation by the authorities, in an attempt to determine the exact time of death and mainly the cause.

The exact cause of death is expected to be given by the results of the autopsy that have already been ordered to the Forensic Medicine Service of Thrace.
