A vehicle carrying a family of tourists was swept away in Agia Pelagia, Heraklion – The driver is dead, two more people are missing

Tragedy in Agia Pelagia, Heraklion in Crete with one man losing his life and two others being searched for, due to the bad weather that “hit” the area earlier on Saturday morning.

At the same time, in the coastal area of ​​Lygaria, west of Heraklion, the authorities proceeded to rescue a woman, who was in danger and is now in good health.

According to the initial information of Creta24, the tragic incident occurred in the area of ​​Agia Pelagia, when a car with a family of tourists was swept away by the waters.

The Fire Department confirmed that the driver was found inside the vehicle and is dead, while the other two people (a man and a woman) are missing.

Based on reports from local media, the car got stuck in the anti-flood canal.
