Gen. Dimitris Houpis is the new Chief of the HNDGS

He was until now the head of the Special Warfare Command

The meeting at Megaro Maximos was concluded with the end of the four-year term of General Constantinos Floros, as Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

After Prime Minister’s Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ conversation with Nikos Dendias a few days ago, it was decided that the changes today would be limited to the Hellenic Armed Forces and not extended to the Hellenic Security Forces (Police, Fire Service, Hellenic Coast Guard), as Michalis Chrysochoidis needs some time for further evaluation.

The until now head of the Special Warfare Command, Gen. Dimitris Houpis, takes over the position of the Chief of the HNDGS.

Originally from Serres, Mr. Houpis is a graduate of the class of ’87.
