German Finance Ministry warns Greece funding could delay, if reforms fall back

Slovak FinMin calls Tsipras decision cynical

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schuable’s press officer said any delays by the Greek government in implementing reforms deriving from 3rd rescue plan would affect the release of agreed installments.

Even though German Chancellor Angela Merkel told Daily Telegraph, Thursday that Alexis Tsipras’s resignation is part of the solution and not part of the crisis, Berlin expressed a clear warning towards Greece, Friday that the latest political developments in the country could affect the implementation of the 3rd bailout plan.

Meanwhile, the Slovak Finance Minister, Peter Kazimir characterized the decision by PM Alexis Tsipras to go to the polls in September ‘cynical’ in a tweet he posted on his account. “We respect the decision of Tsipras, however, I have the feeling that the timing he chose is somewhat cynical after the release of the first bailout disbursement”, he said. He continued tweeting that he hoped Greece would honour the provision in the deal.
