The German War Reparations Commission President Panagiotis Karakousis told Europolitics newspaper that he has scheduled the presentation of a report on the subject to be presented to Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras on December 30. Mr. Karakousis said that he is not willing to reveal the figure of Germany’s war debt to Greece based on his own research and methodology however he did point to previous lawmakers’ estimated figures that amounted to 10 billion euros worth of debt to Greece. He also noted that there is a very clear distinction between the issue of Germany’s war reparations and the bailout program for Greece, indicating that the two aren’t linked.
