The shooting of “Gone Girl” was very demanding, according to actress Rosamund Pike, speaking to Vanity Fair.
“In this movie I spent more hours in front of cameras than I’ve spent in the past, added up. Shooting lasted for five or six hours every single day”, she stated.
David Fincher’s intentions were characteristic, for the scene where Pike cuts the throat of Desi Collings, there were 36 takes.
“Imagine that I had to wash off the fake blood off of me 36 times”, said Pike.
For the scene, it took 36 pairs of sheets, 1700 liters of fake blood and 36 pairs of underwear.
The result, however, compensates for the efforts.
