Greece will not participate in military interventions in Syria

Greek Defence Minister P. Kammenos ruled out the possibility of Greek military interventions

Defence Minister Panos Kammenos told private ANT1 TV on Monday that there is no possibility that Greece would participate in military interventions against ISIS target in Syria.

“Greece’s role as a guarantor of stability in the wider region is more important,” he underlined.

Alternate Defence Minister Dimitris Vitsas, in statements to private SKAI TV, reiterated the same sentiments, stressing that Greece will have to play a leading role in the efforts to find a solution in Syria and restore political stability.
