A photograph posted on Facebook last Friday by noted local author Auguste Corteau, showing the man kissing his … husband, was apparently too much for the world’s foremost social media site, which promptly took it down.

The photo by Corteau, whose real name is Petros Hatzopoulos, generated some 7,000 likes and 30 “shares” before it disappeared, while it was accompanied by hundreds of comments.

The gay couple, married in New York state last November, is shown with the Thames River in the background.

Corteau later commented on the pic’s elimation in a new posting.
