Greek government eases capital controls for Church

Metropolises can withdraw up to 10,000 euros per month

The Finance Ministry decided to ease capital controls on the Church of Greece, a decision which was highly criticized by business owners who continue to suffer due to capital controls.

Specifically, metropolises can withdraw up to 10,000 euros per month while the Athens Archdiocese can withdraw up to 20,000 euros. The decision was published in the new Government Gazette released on September 25.
