Greek Ministry strongly advises Greek ships against sailing in Iranian-controlled waters

Two Greek-owned oil tankers were seized on Friday by Iran

The Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs issued a statement strongly advising Greek ships to avoid sailing through Iranian-controlled waters in the Persian Gulf, the Straits of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman, following the seizure of two Greek oil tankers by Iran on Friday.

According to sources from the Ministry of Shipping, cited by the Athens News Agency, the Prudent Warrior is anchored in the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, while the Delta Poseidon currently remains in the same position in the Persian Gulf.

The Delta Poseidon has a crew of 25, including two Greeks, and the Prudent Warrior has a crew of 23, including 8 Greeks and a Cypriot.

The two Greek tankers are under the control of the Guards of the Revolution of Iran, while the crew remains on both ships and the members are in good health.
