Greek PM addresses EPP Youth Conference in Athens

During the meeting, three ONNED proposals were voted on

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras addressed the congress of the presidents of the Youth of the European People’s Party (EPP) held in Athens under the auspices of the Youth Organization of the conservative New Democracy (ONNED).  “Your presence here today gives hope to all of us,” said Mr. Samaras at the meeting that ended late on Saturday. “Greece is a country which has been in recession for six years…now we have surpluses, both in our budget and in the current account balance. According to Eurostat data, Greece recorded the highest growth in the eurozone during the third quarter and we hope for a 2.9 percent growth in 2015.” He said that after all the sacrifices, he believes that the crisis would soon end.

Three ONNED proposals were voted by all center-right Youths of Europe. These proposals call on Turkey to stop violations at Cyprus EEZ and respect the sovereignty of both Greece and Cyprus, the return of the Parthenon Marbles from the British Museum and the increase of European preventative measures for the Ebola virus.
