I met with Tsipras to buy a TV channel license in Greece, claims a Turkish businessman

“We have two options, either buying a Greek TV channel, or buying a new license”, Marketing Manager of the Turkish TV channel reportedly said

The owner of the Turkish channel TV8, Ali Ilicali, met with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to discuss on granting TV channel license, according to Turkish media report.

These claims have been confirmed by the Marketing Manager of the TV channel, Ali Cemal Karabudak.

“We have two options, either buying a Greek TV channel, or buying a new license. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was positive regarding our proposal during our meeting and our aim is to have the new channel fully operated by October. In that way, Turkey will make its voice heard in Greece “, Ali Cemal Karabudak reportedly told Turkish media.

Last November, the owner of TV8 watched the friendly football match between Turkey and Greece which took place in Istanbul along with many Turkish officials. Prime Ministers of Greece and Turkey, Alexis Tsipras and Ahmet Davutoglu respectively, also attended the match.

According to Turkish media, Ali Cemal Karabudak was excited about his meeting with the Greek Prime Minister, while today’s reports of Turkish newspapers refer to the conflict arose in the Greek parliament because of the possibility of the Turkish businessman buying a TV license in Greece.
