Incredible explosion in a Chinese electric car (video)

No injuries were reported

Newsroom September 2 01:46

A video above the parking lot where the BAIC electric car was located shows the severity of the explosion.

The video was recorded on August 20 in the southern Chinese city of Sanming. It starts with a pretty loud sound which was obviously the reason that made the amateur start recording. A few seconds later the explosion takes place which has such intensity that it literally destroys the car.

According to sources who have examined the details of the video, this is a model of the Chinese company BAIC.

Initially, smoke can be seen, which apparently came from a fire that had occurred during charging. The intervention of the fire brigade and the throwing of water in the car, however, seems to have had the complete opposite of the desired result as it led to the very strong explosion.

It is known that lithium batteries, which presumably were installed in the car, explode when they come into contact with water and it is a surprise why the firefighters didn’t know about it.

Fortunately, however, according to local media reports, no one was injured as there not anybody near the car at the time of the explosion.
