Interior and Admin. Minister Katrougalos predicts agreement with creditors

The Greek minister did not rule out an extension to the current program

Alternate Interior and Administrative Restructuring Minister George Katrougalos predicted that Greece would come to an agreement with its international creditors over the coming week, when speaking with French radio Europe1 on Sunday.

He underlined that austerity isn’t just of concern to Greece but all of Europe. “Greece is not a separate case. In today’s Europe there are two contradictory positions – social Europe and austerity,” he said.

Katrougalos also noted that Greek banks will not impose a capital control and stressed the importance of the coming week. “Next week is crucial. It is not just Monday. It is an ongoing effort,” he said.

He said that the possibility of an extension to a program is feasible technically speaking though he is against such a prospect.
