Greek shipping sector has turned into a goldmine with all the major international shipping centers worldwide offering their premises to companies of Greek interests so as to move their base there.

One of the main incentives offered is tax benefits. Whoever controls shipping, he also controls the global trade since 90% of goods are transferred by sea. This shows the great role of Greek shipping companies in the world trade.

Dubai, London, Singapore and Hong Kong have increased their efforts during the last two years to attract Greek companies, either formally or informally, in private meetings with Greek ship owners.

Recently, China introduced a new tax system for shipping companies which is very appealing. Chinese government aims to attract more shipping companies to the East by upgrading and developing country’s shipping sector.
