Intl animation festival Animasyros 8.0 again on Syros

Tribute to noted Israeli director Ari Folman this year

The international animation festival Animasyros 8.0 will get underway this week on the Cyclades island of Syros, with a tribute to noted Israeli director Ari Folman and screenings of his works a highlight of events.
Folman is also set to premiere a short segment of his new animated work based on the Anne Frank’s Diary.

The festival, which began in 2008, is the largest of its kind in Greece and one of the most known globally.
It is annually held in the capital of Cyclades island chain, Ermoupolis, and includes screenings, tributes to international animation festivals, artists and studios, media literacy activities for children, youngsters and adults, parties and tons of parallel events.
Εvents are free to the public and take place at the neo-classical Apollo Theatre, the Hermoupolis Cultural Centre, on the University of the Aegean premises and elsewhere.
