Netanyahu: Hamas violated the ceasefire

The number of Palestinians killed amounted to 1,060

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that armed Palestinian organization of Hamas violated the 24-hour humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza that they had proposed themselves.

In the question if Israel would accept the proposal for a new ceasefire, Netanyahu told CNN television network and the show “State of the Union”: “Hamas did not even respect the ceasefire proposed themselves.  Continues to unleash attacks against us this as we speak, “Netanyahu said, adding that Israel” will take whatever action is necessary to protect the Israeli people. ”
In another interview on “Fox News Sunday”, Netanyahu said that Hamas has violated five ceasefires which had accepted and implemented by Israel.

“They ejected them all, violated all, including the two humanitarian ceasefire of the last 24 hours,” said Netanyahu.

He also said speaking on the show “Meet the Press” of American television network NBC that “the only option” is the peace initiative brokered by Egypt and added that Israel’s objective is the “demilitarization of Gaza.”

For his part, Netanyahu’s spokesman, Mark Retzev, told the German Press Agency dpa that the proposal for a new 24 Hamas truce “is not serious”.

“Hamas proposed a ceasefire and then they violated the ceasefire that proposed themselves. Lacks seriousness (the proposal) . Ceasefire means Ceasefire,” he said.

Analysts believe that announcing the same humanitarian ceasefire having previously rejected the extension, means that Hamas is now trying to dictate developments instead of monitoring them.
