UPDATE: In a last minute development, the Italian President Sergio Mattarella did not accept the Prime Minister’s resignation and asks him to address Parliament.

Italy is entering a deep political crisis, with the Prime Minister of the country, Mario Draghi, announcing his resignation.

“Super Mario” is reminded that was appointed Prime Minister by Sergio Mattarella, in order for Italy to recover after the pandemic and to face the country’s problems.

But a year later, Draghi was faced with a fragmented parliament and the Five Star Movement pulling the plug, criticizing Draghi for his handling of the wave of inflation that sweeps across Europe.
