Karpathos at the top of the preferences for the Dutch

It is a Greek destination that is ideal for water sports, diving, theme trips and nautical excursions

Newsroom May 20 01:59

The first place in the preferences of Dutch tourists is occupied by Karpathos in a list announced by the travel website Griekenland.net after a survey among the travel public about Greek destinations that offer water sports, diving, theme trips and nautical excursions.

The largest Dutch website focusing exclusively on holidays in Greece says that “with the ally of the wind and the lacy coastline, Karpathos is the best destination in Greece for windsurfing enthusiasts.

Diving for reef and shipwreck exploration is an excellent addition to the daily routine of sea lovers.

The services provided by the island’s surfing schools and diving centres enhance the experience of activities in Karpathos”.

It is noted that an extensive presentation of the Municipality of Karpathos had previously been made to the Dutch media about the range of alternative activities on the island.

Along the same lines, an extensive multi-page feature entitled “Karpathos, the rough diamond of Greece” was published in the same period by the Danish magazine Ude og Hjemme praising the wild natural beauty, local cuisine, tradition and numerous options for exploration on the second largest island of the Dodecanese.

“The signals we are receiving about the development of the season are positive, with numerous tourists expected from both traditional and newer markets.

It is encouraging that our narrative of multi-experience holidays in Karpathos such as village tours, dozens of beaches, hiking, diving, climbing, sea tourism, culture, our unique tradition and gastronomy has been well received by international markets,” said the Deputy Mayor of Karpathos Municipality of Tourism, Tasos Milios.
