KKE’s Koutsoumbas visits Pella, Imathia

Meanwhile, ANEL’s Kammenos meets with Aristotelis mayor

Opposition Communist Party (KKE) general secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Sunday toured the prefectures of Imathia and Pella in northern Greece.

In a meeting with farmers at the old city hall of Makrohori, Imathia, he referred to the unfavourable consequences of the international and domestic conjuncture, noting that the problems were present before the crisis in Ukraine and the Russian embargo.

Earlier, he visited the farmers’ cooperative in Arnissa, Pella prefecture, and was briefed on its production capacity that reaches 100,000 tonnes of fruits (apples, peaches, cherries and pears). Koutsoumbas underlined that the region of Pella is an example of what can be accomplished by the country’s manpower.

Opposition Independent Greeks (ANEL) president Panos Kammenos on Sunday visited the municipality of Aristotelis in Halkidiki, northern Greece, and met with its new Mayor Yiannis Mihos.

Referring to the statements made by government vice-president Evangelos Venizelos in Thessaloniki, Kammenos said that, in essence, what the government does is to blame itself when it talks about the end of the memorandums for which it is responsible.
