What preceded the cold-blooded execution and what the police are investigating – Dead a 23-year-old man, wounded a 26-year-old soldier and a 23-year-old man

Investigations by the Hellenic Police are in full swing to solve the deadly gunfight that took place on Sunday morning (28/4) outside a club on Kifissia Avenue in Maroussi, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man and the injury of two more, a 26-year-old soldier and a 23-year-old man.

So far the perpetrator has not been found, while investigations are underway to locate other people involved in the clash. The 26-year-old soldier was in the company of the assailant, while the other injured man is on the victim’s side, reports said.

According to the information available to the authorities so far, ten persons were allegedly involved in the wild brawl that resulted in the death of the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, the visual footage from CCTV cameras and the .22-caliber gun with a cartridge found after the bloody incident are being examined at the police forensic laboratories, with the Homicide Department in charge of the case.

The knife with which the victim was fatally wounded was not found.

The cause of the altercation appears to have been minor and the latest information is that one of the people involved, who is still unknown, reportedly said: “Move over, you looked at me the wrong way”.

Authorities are investigating whether there was a second knife

According to reports, the assailant was inside the club and while partying, he argued over trivial matters with another person. This person, shortly afterwards, left and returned to the club with reinforcements for the 23-year-old victim, who was not in the premises until that time.

The perpetrator then, went out with his companion, where the deadly scuffle began. It is noted that during the scuffle, the 23-year-old took out the gun he had on his belt and attempted to open fire. However, the gun allegedly jammed, causing the near-victim to become the aggressor and plunge the knife into the 23-year-old’s neck, leaving him bleeding on the ground.

At the same time, a 26-year-old man was also injured in the incident, who sustained an abdominal wound and another person who is being treated at the Red Cross Hospital carrying a minor knife wound to his back.

At the same time, authorities are investigating whether there was another knife involved in the fight. That is, whether the assailant stabbed the 23-year-old in the neck and his companion stabbed the other two people.

The victim has been previously employed for drug robberies and thefts. Police are conducting an investigation to locate the perpetrator.
