Lava from Hawaii volcano threatens homes

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory warns that lava could reach homes in five to seven days

The residents of an isolated region of Hawaii’s Big island are facing now another danger following the tropical storm which hit the area last month.

The lava from the Kilauea volcano, the most active volcano on Earth and the most dangerous volcano in US, could pose a threat for their village.

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory warns that lava from the Kilauea volcano could reach homes in five to seven days, if it continued its steady advance through cracks in the earth.

However, the Hawaiian authorities have not yet called the residents to evacuate their homes because, stressing that they would do so, when it would be confirmed that lava would reach the area of the island in five days.
