Following the government’s decision early on Saturday for the requisition of PPC employees of their services, the main opposition Radical Left Coaltion SYRIZA party announced that “the government once again chooses the path of despotism and of criminalization of [social] struggles”.

SYRIZA noted, that “PPC employees, who defend PPC’s public nature and national interest, are not terrorized. The government bears the whole responsibility for the climate of social polarization and extreme political conflict, which it grows”.

The main opposition party called the government “even at this hour to withdraw the bill for the “small PPC” spin-off and to adopt SYRIZA’s proposal for a referendum, giving the Greek people the chance to decide on the state [nature] of PPC”.
