On Monday, June 30 in Strasbourg MEPs will attend the raising of the European flag. Traditionally, this symbolic act is performed by the EuroCorps contingent while a military choir sings the anthem “Ode to Joy”.

The MEP of the Greek political party Potami Miltos Kyrkos suggested to Socialists and Democrats that children should raise the European flag so that the new European Parliament could show how important the new generation is for the future of Europe and that the chorus of the University of Strasbourg would sing the anthem.

His suggestion was received positively by many members of Socialists and Democrats.
