Shipping and Aegean Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos and Administrative Reform and e-Government Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended on Friday a blessing service for the newbuil ship “Neptune Thalassa”.
The blessing service was held in Ikonio by the ship’s owner, Neptune Lines Shipping and Managing Enteprises SA Managing Director Melina Travlos.
The ship was delivered in April and has already raised the Greek flag, with a total of four Neptune Lines ships currently in the Greek register.
It is a dedicated vehicle carrier that can transport up to 3,500 cars and has a carrying capacity of 31,000 square metres, while it comes equipped with advanced manoeuvrability characteristics that make it suitable for the short sea shipping trade.
