Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni met on Tuesday with Culture Minister Costas Tassoulas, in order to discuss joint actions and prospects of cooperation between the culture and tourism ministries.

The aim of the meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Culture, was to discover ways to promote Greece’s tourism product and the country’s cultural heritage.

Kefalogianni and Tassoulas agreed to promote joint actions in order to attract international film and television productions to Greece.

Among the proposed ideas was the creation of financial incentives and the facilitation of the process of filming. Both ministers believe that if Greece manages to attract such foreign productions, it will benefit greatly.

They also agreed on the creation of mobile phone apps that will help visitors explore the Greek culture, by accessing information about archaeological sites and monuments.
