Mitsotakis: The layoffs will go ahead as planned

The Minister supports that the fulfillment of the redundancies will allow to prevent any further ones – What was discussed at the meeting with the Minister of Finance Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis

The Minister of Administrative Reform Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today with the Minister of Finance Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis in order to discuss the reforms and dismissals, in view of the troika meeting in Paris.

According to information at the heart of the debate was both the subject of the commitments made by the government for 15,000 redundancies in the public sector, but also the 400 recruits by the Ministry of Finance, through ASEP for the tax offices.

According to information of a top executive of the Ministry of Administrative Reform, the scheduled layoffs are estimated to take place as planned.

Mr. Mitsotakis earlier, however, had declared to the Greek TV channel Sky that “The aim of dismissal should be fulfilled because it is government commitment and will prevent further ones”.
