Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave an interview to journalist Giorgos Kouvaras and to the main news bulletin of ERT tonight.
Among other things, the prime minister spoke about the stakes of the elections and responded to the criticism of the official opposition – namely, Alexis Tsipras, who has raised the tones of the political confrontation.
Mr. Mitsotakis stated that he is confident of having absolute parliamentary majority in the second ballot and reiterated that he does not believe in election system of simple proportionality. He also underlined that Alexis Tsipras will try to challenge the election result.
At the same time, he said that the new government will have many new faces and more women, while he ruled out a new support package.

As for Greek-Turkish relations after the deadly 7.8 Richter earthquake on February 6, he said that our country will do everything it can to help the neighbor, but he has no illusions that Turkish revisionism will change.
