During a city council meeting the mayor of Piraeus Mr. Yiannis Moralis on the occasion of the recent flooding in the city stressed the great need of flood control projects in Piraeus and talked about the damage caused.

Mr. Moralis emphasized the fact that if the necessary projects do not develop then “if a similar situation occurs the result unfortunately will be the same”.

Regarding the management of Friday’s emergency Mr. Morali said that all staff of the Municipality was there.

Finally, among other the mayor of Piraeus while referring to compensation, he stated that once the municipality receives the funds, they will immediately distribute the amount of 586 euro to every beneficiary household.
