The center of Thessaloniki filled with naked cyclists celebrating cycling and human body in the framework of the World Naked Bike Ride, an international movement in which more than 70 cities around the whole world participate.
The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture.
The cyclists started their ride from the park of Nea Elvetia and headed to the center of the city and Lefkos Pyrgos (White Tower), where they lit flares and started dancing.
The World Naked Bike Ride supports the use of the bicycle as an alternative means of transportation.
The first time it took place was in Vancouver, Canada in 2004 and since then, it has been held annually in 73 different cities around the world.
