Personal data of criminals to be made available to public

The new law will allow the public to recognize criminals that may be near them

Greeks will now be able to have access to criminal records according to a new law tabled in Parliament on Tuesday. The new law allows for the publication of personal data of criminals wanted by authorities or whose place of residence is not known to the police. The identity of the people who the prosecutor considers dangerous to public order will now be available to the public.

The new measures are to be included in a draft bill on research, technological development and innovation being tabled in Parliament on Wednesday and expected to be passed on Thursday.
