Amorgos is the easternmost island of the Greek Cyclades island group in the Aegean. Due to its position, opposite the ancient beaches of Ionian towns such as Militos, Alikarnassos and Ephesos, Amorgos became the first island that the Ionians passed through when heading to the mainland. The island features remnants of ancient civilizations from the early Archaic Greek period. At some point it had been colonized by ancient Cretans though there are no archeological remains to support this. There’s more than the antiquity for visitors to see thanks to its beautiful beaches. Infact, it was featured in Luc besson’s movie “The Big Blue.”
