Pierce Brosnan on Aaron Taylor Johnson: He has the talent to become the new James Bond

The 33-year-old actor has yet to officially accept the role of Agent 007

Pierce Brosnan has commented positively on the official – according to most international outlets – offer to Aaron Taylor-Johnson to play James Bond in the new film.

Brosnan, who played the secret agent from the 1990s and early 2000s in GoldenEye, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day and Tomorrow Never Dies, believes the 33-year-old actor is right for the role.

Specifically, Brosnan said in a recent report: “He was the best in The Greatest. So, yes, I read the news about the possibility of Bond. I think he has the skills, talent and charisma to play Bond, in a big way.”

According to The Sun, the 33-year-old actor has yet to officially accept the role, but many international agencies are already describing him as the next cinematic 007 agent.

A recent poll showed that British actor Idris Elba is still the public’s number one choice for the role, despite being 51 years old. However, he has already ruled himself out of the nomination in order to focus on police drama Luther.

The Sun reports that “Nocturnal Animals,” “Nowhere Boy” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly landed the coveted role.

“Bond is Aaron’s job, if he wishes to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear his response,” a source said.

The lead actor’s name has been floating around for several months among top contenders such as Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Oscar Best Actor winner Cillian Murphy.

“I find it fascinating and wonderful that people see me in this role. I take it as a great compliment,” Aaron Taylor-Johnson told Numero last week about his nomination.
