PM Mitsotakis welcomed Cypriot President Anastasiades before the visit to Mati (photos)

The visit takes place a few days before elections in Cyprus, where Mr. Anastasiadis, having completed his term limit, will not be a candidate.

At 10:00′ in the morning, the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, was at the Maximos Palace, who was received by the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who has just returned from his visit to Japan.

After the personal meeting, an agreement was signed by the Ministers of Education of Greece and the Education, Sports and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus for the mutual academic recognition of university degrees.

Afterwards, Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Anastasiadis visited Mati and will be at the site where works are being carried out for the creation of a Memorial Park donated by the Republic of Cyprus.

There will be a foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the building complex and the park that will be built in the area.
