The Greek Prime Minister on behalf of the Cypriot president presented to European Leaders a map picture portraying the situation that has developed in the EEZ of Cyprus.

After the recent explosive events in southeastern Mediterranean, the issue of Cypriot natural gas deposits and Turkey’s aggressive behavior , created an important point of discussion in today’s meeting of European leaders in Brussels.
The Republic of Cyprus in cooperation with the Greece brought to the table the issue, seeking support from the European partners in order to mitigate the Turkish behavior.
The goals of the Greek side
The Greek side moves in a very diplomatic way, betting on the support of other countries such as Italy and Germany which both have issues with Turkey.
Great Britain seems to have a negative adjacent to the Cypriot and Greek objection, since does not want to create further reactions from Turkey due to their crucial role in the ongoing war against the Islamic State.
