The main building has been occupied since Friday by a group of anarchists who have issued a statement with demands. The students were told to leave the building as the masked youth entered, demandingthe release of Savvas Xiros from prison due to health problems that have rendered him 98% disabled after a premature bomb explosion that went off as he was placing it at the port of Piraeus in June 2002.

They also want the abolition of Type C prison facilities, the repeal of anti-terrorism laws and the release of the detainees who have involvement with the Conspiracy of Fire Cells terorrist group. Reports state that 150 people are inside occupying the building

Penal action is already being taken against the people occupying the buyilding for vandalism and damage. Athens University Dean Thanos Dimopoulos is calling for the prosecutor’s intervention.
