Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visits Rhodes before heading to Tilos

In Tilos, the Prime Minister will visit the Archaeological Museum, the Town Hall and the Centre for Cyclical Innovation

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived at the airport “Diagoras” in Rhodes and immediately departed for the island of Tilos for a short stay.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Yannis Pappas and the Dodecanese MPs Manos Konsolas, Vassilis Ypsilantis and Mika Iatridou, as well as the Regional Governor of the South Aegean, G. Hadjimarkos.

As it became known, the islanders are preparing a reception for the Prime Minister and will discuss with him issues of concern to them.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister will visit the Archaeological Museum and the island’s town hall and according to the programme of the visit, he will tour the Centre for the Circular Economy of Tilos.

In the afternoon, Mitsotakis will return to Rhodes where he will meet with citizens in the town centre. Afterwards, at 20:00, the Prime Minister will address the forum “EU Tourism: resilience in the Era of the Climate Crisis” at a hotel on the island.

During the Forum, the Joint Declaration of Rhodes on Climate Change and European Tourism will be finalised and signed.

With the Declaration, the private sector commits itself to the actions it will undertake and calls on the new leadership of the European Union institutions to formulate the appropriate policies and the necessary financial instruments to respond to the challenges of the Climate Crisis.
