More than 20,000 Greek braved a June thunder storm on Tuesday evening rally in favor of Greece’s continued presence in the eurozone, and in general, to support a Greece of Europe. The emphasis was on a “yes” vote in Sunday’s hastily called referendum by leftist PM Alexis Tsipras.
The wordy question involves what the government presents as the last proposal by creditors last week, more-or-less in the form of an ultimatum. The government’s own eight-billion-euro proposal of mostly tax-and-tax measures was not up for approval by the voters.
