Shortly after 09:00 on Thursday morning, the American aircraft carrier “George HW Bush” docked at the port of Souda in Crete.
One of the largest and newest US aircraft carriers, the USS George HW Bush will be at the Cretan naval base of Souda for the next five days. Its last visit to the island was five years ago.

The aircraft carrier, nicknamed “Avenger”, will remain in Greece for refueling and recreation of the 5,000 crew members who will flood Chania.
In recent weeks George HW Bush has been in the Mediterranean, in the area of the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea.
