Stefanos Tsitsipas: Bathing in… ice after losing the final in Cincinnati

The 24-year-old tennis player's first post in several days on Twitter comes after the end of the Cincinnati Masters - His stern look and message

Newsroom August 22 11:56

Stefanos Tsitsipas was absent from Twitter for about 10 days and the occasion was none other than the Cincinnati Masters in which he participated and had a very good run.

The 24-year-old athlete, after a great victory against his great rival Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final, “emptied” and was defeated in the final by Borna Coric.

Tsitsipas lost the first set 7-6 despite leading 4-1 games, while in the second set it was as if it never came out on the court as he lost it almost hands down 6-2, missing out on a 10th career title.

After the match ended, he returned to Twitter looking relaxed despite his loss. In particular, the Greek star posted a photo in which he was in a bathtub full of ice – a common recovery for athletes after tiring matches or tournaments – adopting a somber style, something unusual for him. The image was accompanied by a caption – a play on words as he wrote “stay cool” meaning both the temperature he was at and the composure he needs.
