Leopoldo Federico,one of the most outstanding bandoneonists in the history of tango, died on Sunday at 87 at the Sanatorio de la Trinidad hospital, in Buenos Aires City.
The iconic musician was a member of a number of the major orchestras of the 1940s and 50s including those of Juan Carlos Cobian, Alfredo Gobbi, Víctor D’Amario.
During his 55-year-long career, he collaborated with other tango legends like Julio Sosa, Mariano Mores and Astor Piazzolla.
