Taste Atlas: Five Greek alcohol drinks among the top 79 in the world – Rave reviews for Tsikoudia

At the top of the list is Speyside Scotch - What positions do tsikoudia, tsipouro, Metaxa brandy, zivania & ouzo hold?

Newsroom March 22 12:18

Once again, Greek spirits make an appearance on the Taste Atlas list, this time focusing on the top alcoholic beverages in the world.

While Greece may not be in the top spot and unfortunately didn’t make it to the top ten, tsikoudia, tsipouro, Metaxa brandy, zivania from Cyprus and ouzo are among the 79 best in the world. At the top of the list is Speyside Scotch, a whiskey that can range from floral and fruity to intense and spicy.

It’s also noteworthy that Scotland holds seven out of the 79 positions, and rightfully so.
