More than 40,000 are estimated to be the jobs that will be created in the near future through programs of Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
The Greek Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr Athanasios Tsaftaris, said that,
“The Greek agriculture and fisheries as well as tourism are amongst the few sectors that have the potential to contribute now and in practice to the development of the country ,”
He continued by saying the field of research and innovation is the key point in the strategic planning for a sustainable agriculture .

The Prime Minister also announced , that soon will be consulted on the draft law ELGO Demeter, under the umbrella of which has been supporting research and innovation .

In order for the research needs to meet the strategic plan for agriculture , it has been decided to strengthen the scientific potential of the Statute that 400 people , in our days became 93 .

Today, the notice for filling 100 research posts was signed, and the notice of employment of another 150 postdoctoral scientists, is expected.
Moreover , as Mr Tsaftaris , finally, stated that new investment projects of (aquaculture-fish processing) are to become reality, totaling in 21 million Euros.
